Complete – Equipped for Good Work
You Can't Be Equipped by a Book You Don't Open
SCRIPTURE:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB - All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
OBSERVATION:
One of the believer's greatest desires is to be complete—equipped for every good work. Yet many—though not all—neglect the source of our equipping: God’s Word.
We live in a fast-paced, fast-food society. We want what we want—“Your Way, Right Away.”
Unfortunately, this mindset has crept into our faith. Many have lost their hunger for Scripture, seeking quick answers and instant solutions. Without the steady nourishment of the Word, we find ourselves spiritually under-equipped for the challenges of daily life.

There is no equal to the Bible, and there never will be. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our Lord stands forever. What can compare to the Bible? What is the chaff to the wheat?”
Consider what sets Scripture apart:
Consider what sets Scripture apart:
- There is no book like it in its continuity and consistency.
- No book like it in its honesty.
- No book like it in its circulation.
- No book like it in its survival.
- No book like it in its influence and life-changing power. (David Guzik)
To be complete means the Bible leads me into everything I need. If I am both a hearer and a doer of the Word, I will be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
APPLICATION:
Do you, like me, desire to be a man or woman of God—complete and equipped for every good work?
If so, let God’s Word—from Genesis to Revelation—do what it is meant to do in your life:
But this only happens if we actually engage with the Word.
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV - For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Psalm 119:105 NKJV - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
PRAYER:
Jesus, thank You for Your Word. May it complete and equip me for every good work. May I find encouragement, correction, and direction as I read it daily. You are the source of life, godliness, and wisdom—all of which I need each day.

If so, let God’s Word—from Genesis to Revelation—do what it is meant to do in your life:
- Rebuke when necessary to confront error.
- Encourage when weary, to refresh your soul.
- Correct to bring true transformation.
- Train you in righteousness—practical, godly living.
But this only happens if we actually engage with the Word.

God's Word is the one source that can make you complete and equipped for every good work—but only if you engage with it every day.
