Crazy!

When God’s Plan Looks Crazy

SCRIPTURE:
Mark 3:21 (CSB): - When his family heard this, they set out to restrain him, because they said, “He’s out of his mind.”

OBSERVATION:
In Mark chapter 5, everyone except the unclean spirits called Jesus crazy. Even His own family said He was out of His mind.

What Jesus was doing went against what they had been taught. The man with the withered hand was told it was not lawful for him to be restored on the Sabbath because stretching out his hand was considered work. Jesus was upset; they thought He was crazy.

Mark 3:4–6 (CSB) – Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. After looking around at them with anger, he was grieved at the hardness of their hearts and told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So, he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. Immediately the Pharisees went out and started plotting with the Herodians against him, how they might kill him.

They were so outraged that they decided to kill Jesus, showing no concern for the man who had just witnessed a miracle in his life.

Even Jesus’ family thought He was crazy, and the scribes accused Him of driving out demons by Beelzebub. Everyone believed He was out of His mind... yet He was obeying the Father's plan. It might have seemed "crazy" or that “He was out of His mind," but God often works in unpredictable ways.

Isaiah 55:8 NKJV - "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD.

APPLICATION:
Sometimes we need to embrace the “crazy!” It may seem that what the Lord is doing is different from what we expected, but He is not “out of His mind.” He is simply following the Father’s plan! When His thoughts don’t align with ours, and our ways seem contrary to His, trust the Lord; He is working!

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

PRAYER:
Jesus, lead me to follow Your plan, even when it feels crazy to me. Your ways are far higher than mine. Though I sometimes doubt, fear, and struggle with trust, I know You are God, and I am not. I believe, but please help my unbelief.
Trust God’s ways, even when they seem “crazy”—He is always working with purpose.
