Good News Proclaimed

Sharing the Gospel Until the End

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 24:14 CSB - "This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

OBSERVATION:
In the Olivet Discourse, Jesus gave us signs to watch for regarding the end of the age. As you read, you notice various warnings and signs pointing to His eventual return. Today, I want to focus on one wonderful part of these signs: the Good News proclaimed.

As you read this, you might feel a bit discouraged about the decline and deterioration of the world, society, and even the church. However, all these things must happen. For you and me, they should bring joy and excitement because our King’s return is near.
Jesus promised that before the end, the gospel would go out to the whole world. The persecution, false prophets, and general downgrade of society would not prevent the spread of the gospel.

The church is to take this seriously as their duty. However, God assured that it will happen: I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth — to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people — saying with a loud voice. “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come.” (Revelation 14:6-7) – David Guzik.
Could this be a sign of one last revival before everything comes to an end? Many, myself included, have clung to the verses in Joel Chapter 2 that speak of an awakening and revival in the last days.

Joel 2:28-29 KJV - And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

APPLICATION:
Throughout the ages, God has been faithful to bring about awakenings. If you study revival through history, it often seems that when things get darkest, the light shines the brightest. During the last awakening, the Jesus Movement, things were dark (and still are), yet God chose to move in a young generation who were hungry for more of Him.

Let us ask the Father to pour out His Spirit once more — in our generation, for our children and grandchildren. That God might move again, and that the Good News will be proclaimed, even amidst persecution, false prophets, and society's general decline.

Maybe God is simply waiting for us to ask!

PRAYER:
Jesus, thank You for coming to save all people. Father, I pray that You would pour out Your Spirit one last time. Revive my heart. Begin in me. May You move once again in our generation, despite everything happening in our world.
Even in darkness, the gospel shines; we are called to share it.
